ABOUT THE FRITTER

Apple Fritter is a small clothing and stuffie business created by sisters Marisa and Alexa Hull. Everything for sale is made from second-hand clothes or recycled material and hand-sewn, dyed, painted, and jeweled by Marisa and Alexa.

Apple Fritter strives to focus on sustainability and community by using compostable or recycled packaging to ship goodies and by contributing full proceeds of sales from “Reproductive Rights Mimsy” to planned parenthood. We also collect needed donations at pop-up events for the Athens-Clarke County animal shelter.

Apple Fritter’s name came from their mom’s love of fritters and they hope to radiate that love into the garments they create and to the person wearing them.

MARISA

Marisa is based in the Lower East Side, NY and she uses she/her pronouns. Aside from sewing, she is very passionate about making sweet treats for people. She works full time as a baker/cake decorator at a local bakery, where she gets the most excited about the loaves.

She also has a handsome and noble tuxedo mitten named Shadow. Her and Shadow have been together for about a year, and he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to her. Marisa moved to New York in 2020 to make dresses and bake, and she hopes to continue using her art and Apple Fritter to make the world a cuter place.

ALEXA

Alexa is based is Athens, GA and her pronouns are she/her. She works full time as a bartender and chocolate maker at two local businesses. She has 3 cats: Pepe, Minnie, and Matches (the mittens) and a dog named Shiner. Her heart bursts for these animals and she loves making clothes with them sitting next to her.

Alexa studied social work in school and would love to combine her passion for the planet and social justice with Apple Fritter. She plans to use the shop to advocate for social awareness and support for community based organizations, such as the animal shelter where she got all of her sweet mittens.
